Getting Started with Slack

This summer, we’re going to be using Slack as our primary mode of communication. Slack is like a cross between gchat and a chat room, and is a great way for a group of people to communicate (in both a serious and lighthearted fashion). Only your fellows classmates and I will have access to this channel, so our communication will be private.

By May 18, please complete the following:

  1. Get to know the platform by reading this helpful description. https://get.slack.help/hc/en-us/articles/115004071768
  2. Sign up for our team channel here: https://eng353.slack.com/signup. You will need to sign up using your @msu.edu email account.
  3. Set up your account: add your name, an image, and a description.
  4. Introduce yourself to the class! Tell us where you’re at, your major, your interest in the course, and the most recent book you read for fun.

Please get in contact with me if you are having difficulty getting Slack set up; I am happy to help.
